Julie Stephen Chheng, 8th laureate of the Te Ataata residency, returned to France at the end of August 2024 after six weeks of creative immersion within the residency at Auckland University of Technology. Thanks to AUT, she was able to live this experience with her partner Thomas Pons and their 2-year-old son. During this time, she and her partner were able to work on their project combining nature and language, both in illustration, spatial setting and digital technology.
The residency Te Ataata was initiated by the French Embassy and Auckland University of Technology in order to build bridges between the creative landscapes in France and in New Zealand and to allow collaborations between professionals in both countries.

Julie Stephen Chheng, 8e lauréate de la résidence Te Ataata, est rentrée en France fin août 2024 après six semaines d’immersion créative au sein de cette résidence à l’Auckland University of Technology. Ainsi, grâce à AUT, elle a pu vivre cette expérience accompagnée de son compagnon Thomas Pons et de leur fils de 2 ans. Pendant ce temps, elle et son compagnon ont pu travailler avec sur leur projet mêlant nature et langage, à la fois en illustration, en mise en espace et en numérique.
La résidence Te Ataata a été initiée par l’Ambassade de France en Nouvelle-Zélande et Auckland University of Technology afin de développer des passerelles entre les paysages créatifs français et néo-zélandais et de permettre l’émergence de collaborations entre professionnels des deux pays.
