Mohammad Babakoohi

After studying Fine Arts at Teheran University, Mohammad came to settle in France to specialise in animation. At the Gobelins, he co-directed the short DOGS in 2019.
He completes his training at La Poudrière, where he directs two shorts in animated painting : L’Élégie des mille grues (2021) and Feux (2022). The latest was selected for the Clermont-Ferrand festival in 2023 and screened in more than forty festivals.
He then works on a wide range of projects as a decorator and 2D animator. He takes part in the collection En sortant de l’école, produit par Tant Mieux Prod et France Télévisions in 2023.
During his time in Wellington, Mohammad Babakoohi will work on adapting a poem by Iranian poet, Ahmad Shamlou.
