Estelle Nollet
Resident in 2013
Estelle Nollet was born in Bangui (Central African Republic) in 1977 to an adventurous father and a French teacher mother, who passed on to her a taste for words and travel.
Having lived abroad for many years, it was in Egypt and Mexico that she wrote her first novel, “On ne boit pas les rats-kangourous”, published in 2009. Acclaimed by readers and critics alike, it paved the way for an invigorating, otherworldly style of writing, with survival as its common thread, whether human or animal, physical or psychological. New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Madagascar and finally the French Southern and Antarctic Lands will inspire three new literary adventures set against a backdrop of wide open spaces.
Following her residency, she published the novel Community.
