Shih-Yen Huang

Originally from Taiwan, Shih-Yen Huang studied animation at ENSAD in Paris, graduating with highest honors in 2020. With over ten years' experience and research in video art and oil painting, she works on traces of memory in objects and space through drawing and animation.

Her graduation film, La Confiture de papillons, highlights the complex relationship between a father and daughter living abroad, through the prism of the many pets he has never been able to care for. Entirely realized in 2D using the technique of drawing on colored paper with colored pencils, this film was selected for 40 international festivals and won 12 awards.
